ECE 314 - Logic Circuits Design & Switching Theory

The course deals primarily with the review of number systems, coding and Boolean algebra; inputs and outputs; basic electronic gates and gating network; combinational circuits and logical expression in standard and canonical forms and minimization; modular design of combinational circuits; sequential circuits’ asynchronous and synchronous and its state and machine equivalence; design of sequential circuits; algorithmic state machine. It aims to relate the fundamental concepts gained in the subject on actual computer hardware operation. A careful blend of theory and implementation is also ensured for the course to be indelibly etched in the students' minds, as well as for a more thorough understanding of the computer's circuitry.
